Foot and toes
Foot and toe pain can range from slightly annoying to completely disabling. Whether the pain is aggravated by sports, working on your feet, or just standing while you cook dinner, Prolotherapy is an excellent non-surgical option for progressive and chronic foot and toe pain. Doctor Cavallino has treated successfully patients using Prolotherapy for a variety of foot pain including bunions, Morton’s neuroma, plantar fasciitis, osteoarthritis, turf toe, and more. What these conditions all have in common is that they are most often the result of ligament laxity and joint instability. Prolotherapy is the regenerative injection treatment that specifically targets weakened ligaments in the foot. When the ligaments are strengthened, the joints become stabilized, and the symptoms are alleviated. For over 25 years, doctor Cavallino has helped patients avoid foot surgery and treat post-surgical pain with Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Plasma, and Stem Cell therapy.

The benefit is not instant but gradual. It becomes noticeable after 6-8 weeks, increasing up to 12 weeks. Patients with improvements immediately after therapy are also observed. Pain and stiffness are expected for about 2 to 3 days. Rest is not necessary, normal activities should continue. Complications are very rare as the injection is not placed in the spinal canal or near the spinal nerves. Infection occurs in approximately 1 in 17,000 injections, which is the main complication that can occur.
